"Bumper Kisses" was a loving soul and just wanted to be held and loved. Even though we only had her for 5 months, she nestled into our family like she was always a part of us. We called her "Bumper Kisses" because she would always greet you with a kiss and could jump like a deer into your arms from the floor. Bumper had completed her second phase of heartworm treatment and was progressing well until July 6th, when she started experiencing breathing challenges. She was immediately diagnosed with pneumonia and stayed with the Vet for a week. She started making progress and on July 15th, the vet called me to ask if I wanted to bring her home for the night to see how she would do. The Vet was checking for fluid on her stomach and discovered there was fluid. While the Vet was talking to me, Bumper Kisses died in her arms. Our Vet stated that "she had this happen ten years ago" and normally treatment works. Our greatest gift to her was to have given her five months of love and attention. Something she never had before. Bumper gave us a special gift too...She will always be in our hearts and we loved her very much. Her eyes were always so bright and attentive. Her character was loving and so appreciative. I know she is in heaven now and has wings delivering "Bumper Kisses.!"
